AMR Update on Terra Technology

During our Supply Chain Executive Conference in Phoenix, we caught up with Robert Byrne, president of Terra Technology. Terra Technology is a relatively new demand management vendor, making systems designed to improve forecast consumption (also termed "forecast netting" by some users) logic. It's a small, privately held company with a very specialized product, but for many customers, the use of the technology is a closely guarded secret. Customers report dramatic improvements in the demand visibility signal for their ship–from locations. As a result, he reports that his team has closed five pilots this year and is actively working on pilots with six additional companies. A pilot averages $18K and four to six weeks’ time. The system is part of a growing supply chain management trend: bolt–on applications to ERP systems to improve demand visibility.
